16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence (GBV) is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the international Day for the elimination of violence against Women and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. Women in Communities joins other stakeholders to bring awareness to communities on GBV, intending to use social media platforms, community radio and public speaking to commemorate the campaign.
The Community aims to contribute towards the complete elimination of violence in the workplace and development of work policies that are gender sensitive and that protect the women. The organisation’s theme is, Â “SPEAK OUT, SILENCE IS VIOLENCE”.
